We did it, a couple fifty-plus-something-year-olds. We made a farm!
It’s not huge and it’s not in the middle of nowhere. It’s just under five acres, about 35 miles south of Seattle and less than 10 minutes from downtown Puyallup. Oh my gosh though, if you could have seen this place when we bought it! Sorely in need of a makeover, sad houses, overgrown trees, a dilapidated greenhouse and a barn full of cast off junk. Family and friends thought we were crazy. The best thing about it was the dirt (glacier made valley soil). We still like to say, if you put a dead stick in it, it will grow!
Fast forward seven years and everyone wants to know how we pulled this off?! Today the whole place supports how we live and no we did NOT win the lottery. Love, magic dirt and plenty of elbow grease have taken us a long way, but there are so many awesome people, lessons and things that add to a life like this, and we would love to share them with you!
Maybe you have a small farm? Or you are planning one?
Maybe you want to bring a little farm into your life?
We hope you will explore our website and find something that helps or inspires you.

Guesthouse
Information for our short stay visitors
Today our remodeled farmhouse includes a harvest kitchen, concrete floors, a mud room, and a dog shower. The barn, greenhouse and sheds really work. A herd of goats, laying hens, meat chickens, seasonal pigs, a fruit orchard and vegetable garden keep our calendar and our pantry full!
Last year we added our short stay guesthouse and this year, we add this Web site to the mix! There is never a dull moment or need for gym membership. We go to bed tired and grateful for the chance to live like this and excited for the next opportunity to share what we have with family and friends!
